What is a transciption? A transcription extracts the dialogue from an audio or video format and reproduces it in written format. If the language pair is Spanish-English, the source language is Spanish and the target language is English. The certified translator will then reproduce the original Spanish into the first column, and on the corresponding column you will see the 'translation' into English, the target language. In some cases, only the translation of the target language is included, without the presence of the original source language. This is less labor intensive for the linguist and may allow the client a more cost efficient product.
